Bob Paisley, 80, resident of Simi Valley for 39 years, passed away on July
14, 2008, after a lengthy illness.
Bob was born on Nov. 2, 1927, in East Liverpool, Ohio. In 1948, he relocated
with his family to California, where he was drafted into the United States Army
and served in the Korean War. Bob was employed with GTE for 35 years. While
there, he met and married Marilyn, his loving wife of 46 years. They moved to
Simi Valley in 1969, where they raised their three children.
Bob enjoyed bowling and spent a lot of time treasure hunting with his metal
detector. He loved to show people his discoveries and often helped people find
lost items. He was a member of the Gold Coast Treasure Club and the Knights of
Columbus bowling league. Bob was devoted to God and his family. He was a man of
integrity and cared for the well-being of others. He was always willing to go
out of his way for anyone.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and
Debra Paisley of Simi Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Karl Rolf of
Simi Valley; daughter, Kathy Paisley of Alhambra, Calif.; sister and
brother-in-law, Jeanne and Jack Evans of Wayne, Pa.; sister-in-law, Esther
Paisley of Springfield, Mo.; granddaughter, Alanna Paisley; and many nieces and
nephews.
The viewing and rosary will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at
Reardon Simi Valley Mortuary, followed by a Catholic Mass at 10 a.m. on
Saturday, July 19. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be
