Phyllis Evelyn Champreaux passed away Monday evening, September 1, 2008, in Stockton.

A native of Walla Walla, Washington, she was born to Herbert and Ruby Thurston on October 6, 1917. Mrs. Champreaux came to the Stockton area and attended business college. She was a secretary for Cannery Union Local 601 for 37 years.

Mrs. Champreaux is survived by her beloved son, Howard Souza and his wife, Holli; loving grandchildren, David Souza, Jodi Young and her husband, Greg, and granddaughter-in-law, Yvonne Souza; great grandchildren, Hillary Souza, Brooke Souza, Nicole Young and Grant Young. Mrs. Champreaux is preceded in death by a brother, Howard Thurston. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton, California 95219. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. Committal will be at Stockton Rural Cemetery, Stockton, CA.
