STAR TESTING STAR testing will be held May 4th-15th. Students who miss tests will have to do make-up testing during class time. You can help prepare your child by ensuring that your child gets plenty of rest at night and eats a healthy breakfast before school. Avoid scheduling medical or dental appointments during this time. Please be sure to have your student bring a book to read in case they finish testing early. YOSEMITE GEAR DRIVE
There will be a used
Yosemite gear drive from April 6th-April 10th. Any clean, used gear will be
accepted and given to Mrs. Enright's Yosemite Store. There will be a table in
the quad at lunch where students can drop off gear. The Red Cross Club will be selling pins for $1 at lunch in the quad from April 6th through April 10th. The proceeds will go towards measles prevention. The club will also be selling tickets to Homestead Lanes for $10. The tickets must be redeemed at the Red Cross Club (meetings are in Room 23) at a later date. The ticket will be good for one game of bowling on April 25th from 5-7PM. All proceeds from the tickets will benefit the Red Cross. There is a limited supply of tickets and pins. THEATER IS BACK AT CMS! INAPPROPRIATE GAMES ON CAMPUS Recently some students on campus have chosen to participate in games such as hitting someone’s knuckles with their own knuckles and kneeing someone in the lower back. These games are dangerous and have resulted in injuries. Please discuss safe and appropriate school behavior with your child, as students who participate in these dangerous games will be suspended from school. TRACK AND FIELD NEWS We have three home track meets, April 23rd, May 5th and May 7th. We need several parents or high school siblings to help run the home meets. If you are interested or know somebody who is interested in helping, please e-mail Garrett Middleton ASAP at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . 8TH GRADE GRADUATION HELP 6th and 7th grade parents: Cupertino Middle School will be celebrating the graduation of its Class of 2009 on Friday, June 12th at CMS. The party can only be a success with the help of parents. Since the 8th graders prefer not having their own parents watch over them, we ask for 6th and 7th grade parents to volunteer during this event to help with serving food, monitoring/running activities and patrolling the campus. Volunteers will be needed before, during and after the event, which runs from 7:15 - 10:15 that evening. If you are interested in helping, please contact Marissa Kacmarsky at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or sign up on PTO Manager at http://cupertinomiddle.ptomanager.com. It's a great chance to get ideas for your own student's graduation. Thanks to all the parents who have donated so far. If you haven’t had a chance to contribute, we would appreciate a $25 donation to offset the costs of the party. We are half way to our fundraising goal, so donations of any amount would be appreciated. Checks should be made out to CMS PTA, and can be turned into the office. STUDENT LUNCH PURCHASES Students have been notified, through the Morning Announcements, that they are not to purchase food or drinks from the cafeteria for friends. Check your student’s cafeteria account balances often to ensure they are not spending an unreasonable amount of money. Please discuss your expectations about responsible spending with your student. To access account balances online, go to www.paypams.com. |
