Lucille Fillmore Whaley May 17, 1923 - June 3, 2009 Born in Garfield, Utah, Lucille F. Whaley R.N., M.S., Ed.D. died at her Sunnyvale home at 86. Daughters Kathleen and Maureen Whaley were at her bedside when she passed after a three-year battle with Lymphoma. Professor Emeritus at San Jose State University began her career as an R.N. but progressed into teaching in the Nursing Department at SJSU. She co-authored Nursing Care of Infants and Children that became one of the most widely used Pediatric textbooks in Nursing Schools worldwide.
