Ellen V. Harvey

Ellen Harvey passed away peacefully due to congestive heart failure at the age of 92.
Ellen
was born on February 27, 1919 in Hayward, CA. as the second child to
Emma and Herman Thorndyke. She grew up in Oakland, CA, with her two
sisters, Francis Teal and Roberta Vrooman. Ellen excelled in school and
had a passion for writing poetry. Graduating early, she began her career
at the Bank of Montreal in San Francisco where she met and married
William E. Harvey in 1941. She later took a position with Pan American
Airlines, and eventually, with the William-Wallace Company where she
worked as an Executive Secretary for 35 years, retiring in 1979.
Ellen
was a devoted mother and grandmother. Sunday nights and Holidays were
always spent at home surrounded by great food, family and friends.
Ellen
is survived by her children Sarah, Terry and Michael; grandchildren
Season, Korin, Mindy and Matt; sister Roberta; nephew Dean (wife Jan,
children Kimberly and Todd) and niece Nancy (Steve). She is preceded in
her passing by husband William, son Bill Jr., and sister Francis.
Accordingto her wishes, interment will be private. In remembrance, donations may be made in her name to the
American Heart Association
.
