Esperanza "Peri" Garcia Acevedo
26 November 1951 - 27 January 2012
Longtime Resident of Sunnyvale
Esperanza Acevedo peacefully left earth to join Our Heavenly Father after fighting a long illness. Born in Mexico City, Peri was one of four daughters and five sons that all lived with ambition and vigor that truly represented the spirit of the Garcia family.
A beautiful woman with a unique life outlook, she sought to express a lifetime of creativity and appreciation of all living things.
Marrying her childhood friend Jose Acevedo in 1971, they moved to fertile Silicon Valley soon after to pursue the American dream. Giving birth to three boys, she unselfishly taught them the values of respect, discipline and love.
Guided by our Lord, Peri's vision and contribution in the development of three successful businesses served as an accolade for family and friends to follow. Her unconditional love and genuine smile won the hearts of everyone she met. During her illness, she was nurtured by her loving son Paul, who protected her from harm for many years. She proved to the world that she was brave, strong and happy to her last breath. Esperanza was a loving mother with an amazing strength that will be missed by everyone.
Preceded in death by her mother Victoria Garcia Rivera, Esperanza is survived by her husband Jose, her three sons: Air Force Maj Jose Alan Acevedo and wife Karen, Christian Paul, Danny Bryan and wife Kelly with their beautiful children Isobelle, Khailyn and Derikh; the Garcia family of Sunnyvale: her brother Roberto, wife Socorro, children Robert Jr., Carlos and Stephanie; the Ramirez family of Santa Clara: her sister Patricia Ramirez and husband Raymundo, children Victoria and Viridiana; the Garcia family of Mexico City: her father Calixto, brothers Jose Luis, Armando, Marcos, Alonso, sisters Bertha, Coquis; and many nephews, nieces, and beloved close friends in Mexico and the Bay Area.
