Lantz, Lois Jane (formerly Dewell), 76, of Tustin, California passed away
on July 6, 2008. She was born to the late Otis John and Freda Mae (formerly
Smith) Krasner on November 29, 1931 in Weirton, WVA. Her mother, Freda Krasner
died in a work related accident at Weirton Steel during WWII. Maternal
grandparents, Walter and Aurora Smith of Weirton, WVA, then raised her. Lois
graduated from Weirton High School in 1949 and went to work at Weirton Steel.
Lois married the late Richard Paul Dewell, they later relocated to California in
the late 1950s where they had four children. Her second husband, Ralph Lantz,
also preceded Lois in death. Lois was a member of Redhill Lutheran Church. She
loved arts and crafts and the game of Scrabble. Four children survive Lois:
Jayne Dewell, Kay Johnson, Richard Dewell of Orange County, CA and Susan
Kleinwaks of Nevada City, CA; six grandchildren, Luke, Sonia, Tiffany, M.
Richard, Spencer, Stephanie, and two great-grandchildren Nohlan and Ian also
survive her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to her favorite
charity, The Salvation Army. Services will be held September 27, 2008 at 2 p.m.
at Redhill Lutheran Church. Her remains will be returned to her beloved West
Virginia.
